Kane wryly accepted the steak, concerned about Neko's hands but ate it anyways. The soft, tender texture almost melted in his mouth, while the beautiful flavors swirled together to make a wonderous flavor. "You can cook for me any day!" He announced, waiting for more. "It was the most delecious steak I have ever had the pleasure of eating!"

Nekp grinned and licked the steak juices off her hands delicately, savoring the taste. "Thanks. I spent some time with a gourmet chef a few decades ago. He was a brilliant old geezer." She smiled fondly at the memory. The poor man had taken her in after a group of humans had nearly beaten her to death and taught her all she knew about food and fighting.

"A lot, huh?" Kane nommed more steak, "I think immortality is a horrible curse... but if you are a person who could care less about seeing everyone pass before you... it would be uh... good for one's own goals." Kane stopped himself, choosing his words more carefully. "Good your not like that."

Neko smirked. "I've realized a lot about life. I used to be using my immortality to hunt down the man who kidnapped my sister. After I met and lost Roger, I realized I should look for the good in life." She looked over at Kane. "My goddess gave me three gifts when I was born, eternal youth, immortality, and the ability to heal. All of my species get that. Alexandria and I are the youngest, but I'm sure we've both discovered much in our short lives."

"I haven't told you everything." Neko murmured to herself, then spoke aloud to Kane. "I'm not done. I'll clean my stuff up in a minute." She continued to eat, trying to fill the emptiness that always happened when she spoke of her past.

Well, I'll be in my bunk when your ready." Kane shrugged. 'Women,' He thought, 'I never will understand them.' Walking back to his bunk, something stopped him as he reached his hammock. A long, thin, package rest on his meager blanket. Tied in tan, thick paper wraping, and tied together with twine, a small cloth note was attached. It read: "To the newest crewmate. Consider it a gift for coming aboard. Use it wisely." The letters were written by a skilled hand, in neat little rows. It couldn't have been Neko... so... who?
(Wrench in the storyline! Yays, maybe a new character? Maybe a guy? Maybe a girl? Idk yet, but Kane needs a profile, so maybe after I make his, I'll do another.)

Neko walked slowly to the bunks a few.hours later after cleaning the kitchen. She found a note lying on her bed, which was next to Kane's. 'If you dare interfere, you and your wretched sister will die.' Along with the note was a single small package. She ripped it open and found a ring. She looked it over and saw that it was the ring her parents had given to Alexandria to help her control her magic. She looked around for Kane, wanting his help. She found him almost immediatly.
"We have a serious problem." She told him, trying to hide the panic in her voice.
