Joining the Crew

[Neko-chan]

Neko sighed as she walked through the port at Tortuga. She was looking for a specific pirate, but couldn't find him anywhere.
"Damn, Jack Sparrow." she muttered.
"What?" Jack Sparrow showed up in front of her.
"Nothing." Neko's cat-ears went back. "Let me join your crew."
"Sure. Fine. Whatever." Jack's eyes were glazed. He was obviously drunk.
"Thanks." Neko grinned. She hated drinking, but she had no objections to taking advantage of others.

Kane slunk down the dank streets of Tortuga lurking in the shadows where light couldn't pierce. In the late afternoon, the light of the sun started to fade, and candles and oil lamps slowly started to light.

Tortuga, as everyone knew, was dangerous at night, and Kane sought a popular tavern for a drink. He had no idea he was walking into the same tavern as a most infamous pirate.

As Kane entered, there was the familiar noise of crowd chatter and the strong smell of rum and whiskey. Scanning the crowd he noticed that there was a woman with strange attire standing near a quite drunk... Jack Sparrow.

He almost didn't believe who he was seeing. That man had died and come back... and here he was... drunk off of cheap rum. But who was Kane to talk? After all he'd been through a lot of crap... but it was nothing like Sparrow's legacy.

[Neko-chan]

(she has cat ears and a cat tail and all he notices is her strange attire?)

Neko sighed as Jack drank yet another bottle of rum. She noticed a guy watching them and beckoned him over. He looked awe-struck as he walked over and she blushed, realizing she was wearing a man's shirt and trousers. She couldn't help it, they hid her scars from being cut up many times.
"Hey, why're you watching us?" she demanded once he was close enough to hear. She hoped he didn't think much of her hip-length white hair, gold cat eyes, and black ears and cat tail.

Kane eyed the woman who called him, and walked cautiously toward her and Jack Sparrow.

He answered her. "I was scanning the bar is all. I never intended to set anyone off." Kane answered the cat-woman. "Now, if you'll excuse me..." Kane walked over to the bartender and asked for a shot of whiskey. Then another. He stared into the cup and thought of his situation. He could feel eyes watching him from all around the room.

He wasn't wanted, and he had no reason to be nervous. He told himself. He wrapped his cloak tighter around himself as he drank and tried to ignore the noise around him.

[Neko-chan]

Neko took the glass out of the man's hand. "By the love of Kashka, stop drinking. Or you'll end up like him." she pointed towards Jack, who was currently singing a song about a pirate's life for him. "What's wrong, anyway? I'll listen."

[Fusion's Spark]

"This is how I spend my nights, leave me alone you crazy cat!" Kane slapped down his payment on the counter and stormed out of the bar, leaving everyone who wasn't drunk and singing to murmur about what had just occurred.

Kane stopped outside the door. "I don't want to get involved with you, so quit doing as you please..."

[Neko-chan]

Neko rolled her eyes and followed the man. He was almost as messed up as she was. She caught up to him outside the door and put a hand on his shoulder. "Listen, you need to get cleaned up and sober. Then you're going to tell me all about it."

[Fusion's Spark]

"Why should I tell you anything?" Kane mumbled, "You haven't even told me your name. Besides, two shots aren't gonna get me drunk. If you think that, you have allot to learn."

Kane brushed off her hand and looked at her. "Why do you want to know about me? What ever it is you want me to talk about, you cant get me to talk. I'm marked." Kane lifted his sleeve to show a deep scar in the shape of a jolly roger. "Now, leave me alone."

[Neko-chan]

"Ooooooooo. That's interesting." Neko stared at the scar. "Oh, I'm Neko. And you just plain look like someone who needs to talk. Besides, I know you're not drunk, bt you want to be. It's obvious. And I can get you to talk, I just don't want to torture you." she chuckled.

[Fusion's Spark]

"No." Kane answered, "It isn't cool. If I wanted to talk about what I have been through, I cant. This scar prevents me from speaking about my past with these... creatures." He pulled down his sleeve. "Now leave."

[Neko-chan]

"No." Neko crossed her arms. "And I'm not a creature. I'm an immortal half-cat who has been alive longer than you. And trust me, your life can't possibly be as bad as mine."

[Fusion's Spark]

"Immortal?" Kane questioned. "Half cat and immortal. Goodness I must have passed out at the bar... Either way, I was talking about the things that gave me my scar. They are as strange as they get. Stranger than even an immortal half cat. I am not at liberty to tell you any more, so run back to that Jack Sparrow and watch him drink his life away."

[Neko-chan]

Neko sighed. "Since I'm desperately lonely, I can tell that you are too. At least admit it. And no you didn't pass out at the bar. If you had, you would be completely drunk."

[Fusion's Spark]

"I don't want to get involved with pirates anymore!" Kane roared.

[Neko-chan]

Neko hissed. "Who said I was a true pirate? I just need to spend time with someone. If you don't get it, then fine. I'll leave you alone." she turned on her heel. "Just so you know, I don't feel any pity or sympathy for you. I wanted to help you so you would look happy. I hate seeing grown men upset. But, if you don't want to deal with your lonliness in a healthy way, go ahead and get drunk. I wash my hands of you."
