A New Pirate

[Neko-chan]

"Yeah, I believe you." Meliana laughed. "Pirates, Jack Sparrow, Barbosa, the tale of the Black Pearl."
"You should." Gibbs was finding this woman annoying, especially considering she was in Tortuga and still didn't believe him. She was a governor's daughter, just as Elizabeth was. "After all, I was there."
"Whatever." Meliana got up and swept her long, wavy red hair out of her face. Her blue-green eyes flashed dangerously. "I'm going to go buy another beer."
Gibbs sighed. There was no getting through to the woman. He didn't even know why he had spoken to her in the first place. She sure didn't believe anything he said to her, even though he was trying to impress her.
"Oh well." he got up and bumped into Jack.
"Who was she?" Jack pointed at the where the woman went.
"A governor's daughter." Gibbs shrugged.
"She doesn't believe in me." Jack looked as annoyed as he ever did.
"She's a tough nut to crack." Gibbs shrugged again.
"I'm gonna make her believe." Jack walked off to where the woman had gone.

The wood brushed her naked arms and her caloused hands gripped her sword. Lying in wait seened like the best option to catch this imfamous pirate.
Her lack of planning almost always worked, so there was little chance of the world renouned Jack Sparrow slipping from her grasp.
Although, questions haunted her mind. What if he had gone off and claimed another crew and vessel while she lay in wait? No. He would never leave his first love. He only played with women, but his first love was not a human. His precious Pearl was his only true love.
The Black Pearl was the most inportaint thing to Jack, and he would never leave her by choice.
She stroaked back her thick brown hair and smothed her hand over her faded green bandana.
It would only be a matter of time.
Her plan was simple; she would come out from below deck and demand to be part of his crew... or fight him to prove her worth. It was her dream to be a famous pirate, and she would find her niche in this soon-to-be-made crew. She would be writtin in the history books. Told about in leagends of her own-right next to Jack Sparrow. This goal might seem too high, but she desired it.
Her heart pounded with exhilaration behind her deep blue; low cut tunic. Her trousers were unadorned, faded brown, and her boots made of worn but sturdy leather.
Her grip tightened on her sword, and she smiled.

Meliana had struggled as Giibs had pulled her on deck, but now, looking around the ship, she knew pirates were real. They weren't fairy-tales. She also admitted to herself that she may have always wanted to be a pirate, or at least know one.
"So this is the Black Pearl?" she wondered aloud.
"Aye." Jack Sparrow nodded. "And she's all mine."
"Hey look! A monkey!" Meliana raced over to a monkey sitting on the steps leading up t the navigation-wheel thing. She really needed to learn the names for things, but she didn't care at the moment, the monkey was climbing up her arm to sit on her shoulder.
"I hate that monkey." Jack came up behind her and she jumped a little in surprise. "You don't look like a governor's daughter." he told her.
Meliana looked down at herself. She was wearing black trouser's and a man's white shirt. "Shh." she whispered. "I'm trying to escape my father." she giggled a little.
"So, ye dress like a man?" Gibbs asked.
"Of course." Meliana nodded. "Hey! Can I come with you guys? I always wanted to be a pirate."
"Sure." Jack nodded.
"Wind in the sails. Wind in the sails." a creepy bird nodded.
"Mr. Cotton's parrot agrees." Gibbs grinned. "Ye're in."

[Fusion's Spark]

Another voice. No matter, it was time for her appearance. It was time... to face the man of legends.
Heart pounding and adreniline pulsing throuht her veins; she was about to walk up the stairs.
It was time...
There were noises on deck, people talking... more than two. There were two men and... a woman? Why? Who did she think she was?
Racing up the steps; addreniline mixing with anger and fear, she stomped swiftly on deck and unsheathed her sword.
"I demand uh, ask you to join your crew Jack Sparrow!" She shouted, pointing her sword up at the man who she had so long dreampt about.
He turnned, looked her over, and nodded quickly. "You'll do." He said, getting cocky. "She WILL do, wont she Gibbs?" Jack turnned to his first mate.
"Aye, she'll do perfectly fine, Jack." Gibbs answered with a sly smile.
"Perfect." Jack snapped, "You start immediately."
The girl just blinked, "Perfect? What will I do for?" Yelled the girl, still holding her sword high.
"For my new cabin boy- ah, girl." Jack placed his arm on the banister in a relaxed manner, leaning.
"I would tend to you? Foul. I would much rather scrub the head. Let me be of better use to you. I can fight. Do what you will, but I will not be placed so low." The girl grew serious.
"Now see here!" Jack pipped, "This is MY ship and you have come to ME to join MY crew. You will do whatever I say of you."
"No one said I was officily yours. Test me. I can fight!" She swivled her sword toward Jack, and there was silence.

[Neko-chan]

"Um, do you just let anybody join?" Meliana asked, giving the monkey a peanut. "Or do I have to prove myself as well?"
"Can you cook?" Jack asked.
"No. I'm a governor's daughter. I can fight too though. I just kind of lost my swords."
"Kind of?" Gibbs raised an eyebrow.
"Well, they were taken from me before I could reach Tortuga." Meliana shrugged. "It's not like it's my fault." she shoved her hair out of her face.
"Well, I like you, so you can stay." Jack smiled. "You amuse me, as for you," he turned to the girl. "I don't feel like fighting. Fight Gibbs."

[Fusion's Spark]

"What?" Gibbs objected, "Jack, be reasonable, you let this lass in without so much as a question and assign her not so much as a simplistic task, and now you want this girl to fight for her bread and water?"
Jack turnned slowly to his first mate, "You afraid to fight a woman, Gibbs?"
"It isnt like that!" Gibbs jumped up, and grabbed a near sword. Alright, if you want a fight, I can give you one, missy."
"My name is Josie Feimel. Pleased to fight you, Gibbs."
Their sword's clashed swiftly, and there was not so much as second between the beginning and the end of the fight. Gibbs' sword flew, spinning into the deck; stuck, while Josie's held close to his chin.
"How's that capin'?" Josie asked cheakilly.

"You're good." Jack nodded. "You can stay."
"Hi, I'm Meliana." Meliana introduced herself to Josie.

[Fusion's Spark]

"Hello." Josie eyed the monkey sitting on Meliana's shoulder, and shook hands with the girl. "I don't like monkeys." She announced pointedly at the capputchin. (yep, spelled that wrong)
"You can definately stay." Jack reitterated. "Now, Gibbs will show you ladies where you will be sleeping." Jack pointed below deck.
"Aye, Captian." Gibbs nodded and scuttled off. The girls followed.

[Neko-chan]

"I can sleep on deck." Meliana announced when she saw the hammocks below deck. "I'd be much more comfortable there."
The monkey chattered in what sounded like agreement. Meliana stroked his tail.
"Well, ye can't. This is where ye'll sleep." Gibbs decreed. "At least you have your own little corner to yerselves."
"I don't like this plan." Meliana sighed.

[Fusion's Spark]

"I don't find these quarters horrid, but they arent the best I've ever been set up with." Josie swaggered over to her hammock and climbed in it with ease. "I love hammocks tho." She sighed, putting her hands behind her head.
"Aye, well, get comfortable." Gibbs started to saunter out."
"Ah, when will chow be served?" Josie asked, stopping Gibbs.
Gibbs turnned, "Whenever ya feel like cookin'!" He laughed as he went above deck; leaving the two new crew members in silence.

"I'm not cooking." Meliana declared. "I don't cook. Never cared to learn."

[Fusion's Spark]

Josie stared at Meliana, "Never?"

"I'm a governor's daughter." Meliana shrugged. She knew from the way she was dressed in breeches and a man's shirt that she didn't look it, especially with her wavy red hair flowing down her back instead of up in the latest fashion. She had never really cared for fashion.

[Fusion's Spark]

"Well, I'll be. Ever since i was little, i was involved with piracy. My parents were captured and killed by the government, so there was little to hold me to a single place. From the moment I lost my parents 'till now, i have lived the life of a pirate solitarily. I might have been able to meet a few people and get to know my way around, but i have never been a crew mermber before." Josie got off her hammock. "Watching my dad as a captain, I decided I didnt have what it took to be one myself, so I strived to sharpen my skills and speed-" she hit her hilt "-in hopes of one day becoming a simple fine addition to the perfect crew." Josie smiled, "Shall we go to the Gally to see what I have to work with?"

Meliana smiled. "I've always wanted to be a pirate. I even convinced Jack and Gibbs I didn't believe them so thy would bring me here. I practice my swordplay everyday and can beat the best of my father's navy." she was starting to like Josie. "As you can see, I don't care what others wear and will do what I wish. I'm here to learn to start my own crew." she grinned. "And sure will. I know some basics."
