"Shh. I've been following them for two years." Meliana held a finger up to her lips, trying not to laugh.
Before Josie had a chance to reply, the ship crashed into something and one of the crew members came running up to them. "We crashed into some kind of huge egg!" he shouted. "Go tell Jack!"
Meliana ran to Jack's cabin. "Someone found a huge egg, can I take care of it with Josie till it hatches. Please?"
"Sure. Get somebody to bring me rum." Jack shrugged.

With a mixture of excitement and confusion, Josie watched as the crew haulled in an enormous egg. It had a crack from where the ship had dislodged it from the depths. Josie marvled at the size. it was bigger than herself.
"Meliana, lemme get this straight. Off the bat, you asked if we could be its... 'Parents'?!"

Meliana doubled over laughing. "I figured we would both be moms." she told Josie when she could finally control her laughter. "And, yes, I know about Jack and the Kraken. I know lots about him."

"Maybe a little, but I had to know if they were good people." Meliana twirled a strand of hair that had come loose from her ponytail. "I'm not about to spend my time with a bunch of pirates that don't care about people. These are 'good' pirates. Besides, it's not like I did anything like make keepsakes. And, whatever. You're in charge of nursing it."

"Hurm, I see your logic. "Good" pirates are something hard to come across, and I heard the legands enough to know that Jack and crew at least have good intentions deep inside. I have even meet people who have worked with Jack... most of them were women none the less."
